Meditate with Confidence - Non-Residential Retreat

Dates:
Saturday 19th Oct 2024 to Sunday 20th Oct 2024

Non-residential retreat

Let’s be honest —meditation isn’t going how you thought it would.

You’ve learned the Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana, but every time you sit down, your body feels uncomfortable, your mind won’t settle, and frustration kicks in. It seems like everyone else is having a better experience, while you’re left wondering if you’re doing it wrong.

You’re not alone. Many people feel this way but don’t talk about it, thinking they’ve failed. This two-day urban retreat is for you—designed by teachers who understand your struggle.

We’ll help you find ease in your body, even on bad days. You’ll get practical tools to handle discomfort and restlessness without forcing yourself to ‘feel good.’ No pressure, no pretending—just real support to make meditation work for you.

If you’ve been stuck and frustrated, this is your chance to find relief and confidence in your practice.

Practical points
The non residential retreat will take place at the Cambridge Buddhist Centre. It will start on Saturday morning with doors at 9.30am and start at 10am. There will be a full programme from then until 8.45pm in the evening. We ask that you bring some vegetarian or vegan food to share for lunch on Saturday and the Centre will provide you with an evening meal on Saturday. The retreat will start again at 8am on Sunday and will be finished by 3.45pm on Sunday. Breakfast and a simple lunch on Sunday will be provided.

If you have any dietary restrictions that you have not let us know already, you can leave a message in the notes when you book or email us at info@cambridgebuddhistcentre.com. All meals will be vegan; you are welcome to bring cow's milk if you wish (we provide soya and oat milk). The nature of a retreat means that we ask everyone to attend for the whole duration. If you are not able to attend for the whole duration, please contact us at info@cambridgebuddhistcentre.com and we can recommend an alternative event or course.

Please be aware that none of the classes/events run by the Cambridge Buddhist Centre is aimed at under-18-year-olds. All under 18-year-olds must be accompanied by their parent or another responsible adult over the age of 18 (with their parent's permission). Please contact us in advance of attending at info@cambridgebuddhistcentre.com so we can assess how suitable the event is for the young person and how we can safely enable them to engage in a class.
