Meditation Night
Meditation Night is our weekly evening dedicated to meditation.
Please note: There will be no class on Thursday 26th December and Meditation Night will resume on Thursday 2nd January 2025
Come and practice with a community of meditators, whether you're brand new to meditation or looking to deepen an existing practice.
We teach two main meditation practices, the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Metta Bhavana (or cultivation of lovingkindness). These two complimentary practices help us to develop awareness, integration, tranquility and positive emotion.
The class is open to all levels of experience. For those new to meditation, each week we offer a full, step-by-step introduction to the practices, and we will guide you through one of these. For those familiar with the meditation practices, and able to guide themselves in meditation, we now offer the opportunity to have longer sits, and also to get some input into how you can work more effectively in meditation.
No need to book, just turn up.
If you're unfamiliar with these meditation practices, we do also have short introductions to them as well as a led version of each on our Youtube channel.
Please be aware that none of the classes/events run by the Cambridge Buddhist Centre are aimed at under 18-year-olds. All under 18-year-olds must be accompanied by their parent or another responsible adult over the age of 18 (with their parent's permission). Please contact us in advance of attending at info@cambridgebuddhistcentre.com so we can assess how suitable the event is for the young person and how we can safely enable them to engage in an online class.
You can make a donation in person in the Buddhist Centre foyer, or online via our Donate page.
We run on a Dana Economy. Dana means generosity: we do not charge for our meditation and Buddhism classes and we rely on the generosity of people like you. A donation of just £10 - £15 per drop-in class helps us to make our life-changing classes available to everyone.
