Transforming Self and World

Dates:
Tuesday 25th Feb 2025 to Tuesday 1st Apr 2025 - 7.15pm to 9.30pm

Transforming Self and World

This course offers an introduction to Buddhism and meditation (alongside our 'Transform your life' course).

These two courses together introduce you to the heart of what's going on at the Buddhist centre. The Buddhist vision is one of transformation of both self and world – we see the two as inseparable.

Grand as this may seem it has an immediate relevance for anyone who wants to grow; for any method of self-development to flourish we also need to look at our relationships and how we can help others and the world. Equally we need to look at ourselves if we want to start to make any real difference in the world.

You don't need to be a Buddhist to do this course. All you need is an openness to exploring your experience in the light of Buddhist teachings. The course will help get you started with a regular practice of the Metta Bhavana meditation, developing friendliness and other positive emotions. As part of exploring Buddhist teachings, the course involves weekly home-practice to help you test these teachings in your own experience.

Please be aware that none of the classes/events run by the Cambridge Buddhist Centre is aimed at under 18-year-olds.
