Sub30's: Living Your Best Life: The Precepts in Practice

Living ethically is hard!

We're bombarded by ideas about what we should be doing to cultivate a fulfilling life. We may feel overwhelmed by this, or feel restricted, like other people are trying to impose their views on us. Some of us may feel guilty about not doing enough to help ourselves and others. We can also get quite angry about the (un)ethical behaviour of others!

Luckily, there is a healthier way to engage with ethics. It begins by getting in touch with personal values, and then starting to act and live based on those values. This type of ethical life is nourished by feelings of joy and well-wishing, rather than feelings of guilt or anger.

Buddhists use precepts, or training principles, to guide them in their ethical life. The precepts are an expression of traditional Buddhist values, which often align closely with Buddhists' personal values. Join us for an evening with special guest Miriam Lynn, who will share her experience of living out the precepts.

Do you want to meet others interested in living a radical life of transformation and growth?

Sub30s is an evening of connection, meditation, and discussion. You don’t need to be a Buddhist to join, it’s open to anyone aged 18 - 30.

Start your month with an evening exploring how Buddhism can give us a radically different perspective on modern life and talk to other young people who are using this to realise more of their potential and transform their lives. Join us on the first Friday of each month at the Cambridge Buddhist Centre, from 7.15–9:30 pm.

There is no need to book, just come along. Even if you are completely new, you are welcome.

This event is for young people aged 18 to 30 interested in Buddhism and Meditation. If you have any questions or would like to know if this event is suitable for you or a young person contact us at info@cambridgebuddhistcentre.com.
