Yoga is a discipline of both body and mind that benefits our physical health and mental poise.

We have classes in Hatha and 'Iyengar' yoga. We also have yoga belts, mats, blocks and books for sale, although all equipment is provided.

Dhiyampati started practising yoga in 1990. In 2004 he qualified as an introductory level 2 teacher in the Iyengar system, having completed his teacher training at the Iyengar Institute in Maida Vale, London. He also has a keen interest in meditation and is an ordained Buddhist.

Shuddhasara has been practising yoga for thirty years and teaching at the Cambridge Buddhist Centre and elsewhere for 20 years. Originally from the United States, she received a BA with a major in psychology and worked professionally and extensively as a dancer and dance therapist before becoming a yoga teacher.

She qualified as an Iyengar yoga teacher from Introductory through to Intermediate Junior 3 in the course of eleven years. As part of this qualification she attended regularly, classes, intensives and conventions with Senior Iyengar teachers, including a month of study under Geeta Iyengar at the Iyengar Institute in Pune, including the medical class. Over four years she completed all six levels of remedial yoga tuition with Stephanie Quirke, who is Geeta Iyengar's assistant.
This renewed in her a desire to more fully explore ways of modifying the traditional asanas (postures), using restoration and alignment for prevention and recovery from stresses on the body due to imbalances, and unhealthy or destabilising patterns of movement or action.

In exploring other methodologies/ approaches to yoga practice she has begun study with various international teachers including Judith Lasater, Julie Gudmestad, Tias Little, Doug Keller and the late Michael Stone, with whom she also qualified in Teaching Mindfullness to Others.

Her teaching encompasses what these methodologies offer in creating a safe and beneficial Yoga practice, which fits the body as opposed to a style of yoga, however venerable the style.

She is entirely grateful and respectfully indebted to all her teachers.

Shuddhasara teaches four yoga courses plus one remedial class per week for some medical problems and regular workshops. She also offers monthly workshops, practice days, private and corporate classes as well as weekend retreats and yoga holidays in the U.K. and overseas.

Shuddhasara received her name at ordination into the Triratna Buddhist Order in 2001, by her preceptor: it means she whose essential nature is pure, unstained, full strength.
