Buddha Day: The Great Awakening
Featuring in this year’s Buddha Day festival will be families activities in the morning, then a keynote talk by Jnanavaca, president of the CBC, as part of his residency in Cambridge. Jnanavaca will be unfolding the significance of the Buddha’s Great Awakening over 2500 years ago. He will be exploring the consequences of this momentous point in history and what it means for us today.
In the afternoon there will also be a special Buddha Puja in which there will be Mitra Ceremonies.

9.30 Doors open
10.00 Welcome and introduction to the day
10.15 Meditation for all
10.30 - 12pm - Families' activities in lower shrine room
(Under 18's will need to be accompanied by a parent or other adult in loco parentis)
11.00 Tea break
11.30 Talk by Jnanavaca – The Great Awakening
12.45 Lunch (please bring vegetarian lunch to share)
14.15 Mitra Ceremony & Buddha Day Puja
