Clara Novakova was born in Brno, Czech Republic, into a musical family, as the second daughter of the composer Jan Novak. Having spent a number of years in Denmark and Italy, she went on to study at the Hochschule fur Musik in Stuttgart with professor Klaus Schochow. Later she moved to Paris where she continued her studies at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris with Michel Debost.

She won several international competitions including Palmi, Ancona, Stresa, and the Rotary-Preis Stuttgart, the Darmstadt Stipendiumpreis and the Pro Musicis Award. Between 1988 and 2006 she was principal flute with the Chamber Orchestra of Paris (Ensemble Orchestral de Paris). She makes regular appearances as a soloist at the most important venues and festivals (Salle Pleyel and Theatre des Champs Elysees - Paris, Carnegie Hall - New York, City Hall Theatre - Hong Kong, Leo S. Bing Theatre - Los Angeles, Auditorio Leon de Greiff - Bogota, Auditorio Nacional, Madrid, Prague Spring Festival, La Quincena San Sebastian, Spain...) as well as with various chamber- and New Music ensembles from France, Spain and Czech Republic.

She has recorded on radio, television and for many different labels. A CD dedicated to the music of Camille Saint-Saens (Odelette and Romance for flute and orchestra, EMI France) was rewarded with a Diapason dOr in France, her recital CD of the 20th Century Czech Music (LH Promotions) was evaluated with the highest score in Harmonie, the Czech musical magazine.

Ms. Novakova has had teaching positions in Paris and Valencia (Spain), and she has been leading master-classes in Europe, South and Central America, and Asia. She is currently Associate Professor of Flute at the Soochow University in Suzhou, China.

Amalamati studied piano and composition at the Royal College of Music, Kings College, Cambridge where he he was awarded a First Class Honours degree. He then went on to study piano and chamber music at the Paris Conservatoire. He won a number of scholarships and prizes and has since played as both a chamber musician and soloist throughout Europe and further afield.

He has five CDs to his name including a well-received recording of the chamber works of Robert Gerhard with the piano trio Cantamen. In 2002 he wrote and conducted the Triumph of Life, an opera that evokes the last days of the Buddha.

He currently lives and works in Spain where he has been based since 2003. He holds the post of chair of the Valencia Triratna Buddhist Centre, a responsibility he has held for the last 7 years.

He is currently working on a book which explores the imagination as a spiritual faculty and as a means for achieving Insight.

Clara and Amalamati met as students at the Paris Conservatoire and have enjoyed an artistic collaboration that spans several decades. They have performed together throughout Europe both as a duo and as part of Trio Prisma as well as with other groups. They recorded a CD for the label LH Promotion in 2007. Clara currently lives in China and Amalamati in Spain.
