Triratna Buddhist Community
The three jewels - the emblem of the Triratna Buddhist Community
Cambridge Buddhist Centre is a part of the Triratna Buddhist Community (formally known as the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order or FWBO); this is an international Buddhist movement whose aim is to make the Buddha's teachings applicable to modern life. It is run by members of the Triratna Buddhist Order - men and women who have committed themselves to a Buddhist life.
For more about the organisation (and the reason for the change of name), see the Triratna FAQs
Sangharakshita
Sangharakshita, an English Buddhist, founded the movement in 1967. Ordained in all the major schools of Buddhism, Sangharakshita emphasises the Buddha’s core teachings and the need to integrate them with modern western culture.
