The three jewels - an emblem of Buddhism and of the WBO

Cambridge Buddhist Centre is a part of the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order (FWBO) an international Buddhist movement whose aim is to make the Buddha's teachings applicable to modern life. The FWBO is run by members of the Western Buddhist Order (WBO) - men and women who have committed themselves to a Buddhist life.

Sangharakshita

Sangharakshita, an English Buddhist, founded the FWBO in 1967. Ordained in all the major schools of Buddhism, Sangharakshita emphasises the Buddha’s core teachings and the need to integrate them with modern western culture.
